Article: “Sharp rise in girls under 16 having sex” – Home Section

Question 1:

State any two reasons mentioned in the article which contributes to the sharp rise in girls under 16 having sex.

Answer:

First reason is because they are less conservative than their predecessors. The second reason is because there is an increasing proportion of girls who are sexually aggressive initiators of sex.

What are some consequences which a girl might face for engaging in casual sex?

Answer:

They might have unwanted babies or disease or are turning a blind eye to them.

Question 2:

What are some of your reactions after reading this article? If one day, a close friend of yours confess to you that he/she has been engaging in sex, what would your advice to him/her be?

Answer:

I did not react much to it as this case is very common in Singapore. I will advice he or she to go for a checkup and stop engaging in sex.

Article: “Tuition Crazy” – ‘IN’ Section

Question 1:

State any two reasons mentioned by students why extra tuition was necessary.

Answer:

One reason is because extra tuition helps them in the school work and the other reason is because they can make new friends.

Question 2:
Do you think it is necessary for you to have tuition? Why?

Answer:

Yes, I think that it is necessary for me to have tuition because learning the same thing twice will make my understanding for that topic better. Tuition can make me to do practices and tuition teacher may also teach me something new which the school teacher does not teach.
